Our Story

Ripen the MeriSTEM, Inc. (RTM) was founded by Dr. Chenere P. Ramsey in July 2014 with the mission of facilitating the advancement of persons in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. The initial target audience was students and junior-level professionals from groups that are historically underrepresented in STEM career fields. However, RTM services are open to all, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or religion.

Following its incorporation in Virginia, RTM became recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization, making RTM eligible for federal tax exemption under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

In July of 2025, Ripen the MeriSTEM, Inc. moved its headquarters to the City of Cambridge in Dorchester County, MD, the birthplace of Harriet Tubman!

We must close the STEM achievement gap for all.

Who We've Served

Over the years, RTM has served clients in numerous states, including Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Georgia, and Ohio.
Clients have ranged from preschools, K-12 schools, and colleges/universities.
We have also served at national undergraduate scientific conferences.
